Latest W. trailer

Although I had serious reservations about anyone making a film about George W. Bush before his presidency had even ended, I’m starting to think that Oliver Stone‘s W. is not only going to deliver the goods but maybe a possible awards contender.

The latest trailer – set to Once in a Lifetime by Talking Heads – does a great job of distilling W’s life and career in under 2 minutes.

If the film delivers on the promise of this spot then it could be something really special.

On a related note, W. is being screened at the London Film Festival on October 23rd and 24th and on Tuesday 28th there is a talk at the BFI Southbank entitled ‘Cinema under George W Bush: Eight Years of Attack and Counter Attack‘.

The Daily Video: Rain of Madness trailer and clips

The UK release of Hollywood spoof Tropic Thunder is just a month away.

If you aren’t familar with the film, the premise involves a group of highly paid actors (played by Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jnr and Jack Black) shooting a Vietnam movie (like Apocaplypse Now), only to find that they really are in a genuine war zone.

Here is the faux trailer for the mockumentary Rain of Madness, which is a film-within-a-film parody done in the style of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse.

It will be available as a US only iTunes download on the 26th August, but here are some clips via YouTube:

Interview: Adam Sandler on You Don’t Mess With The Zohan

Since making the transition from TV and stand up to movies in the mid-90s, Adam Sandler has become one of Hollywood’s biggest comedy stars.

Films such as Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer and Big Daddy have all been big hits whilst he has also starred in more discerning projects such as Punch-Drunk Love, Spanglish and Reign Over Me.

His latest film is You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, a comedy in which plays an Israeli commando who tires of fighting terrorists and packs it all in so he can travel to America and fulfill his dream of becoming a hairdresser in New York.

I spoke to Adam recently about the film and his career, which you can listen to here:
