Twilight Zone – The Original Series: Season 1 (Fremantle Home Entertainment): One of the most influential television series of all time gets a high-definition presentation for the first time with hours of bonus features. Created by Rod Sterling, it originally ran on CBS from 1959 to 1964 abd depicted stories involving strange and paranormal events. Bruce Springsteen: The Promise – The Making of ‘Darkness On The Edge of Town’ (Sony Music Entertainment): The making of Bruce Springsteen’s classic 1978 album is shown in this documentary by Thom Zinny. Including archive footage from the original studio sessions, it also features interviews with Springsteen, E Street Band members, manager Jon Landau, former-manager Mike Appel, and others involved in the making of the record. Bonus features include a concert filmed in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and an intimate question-and-answer session with fans. [Buy it on Blu-ray or DVD]

Last week Bruce Springsteen was in London to introduce a new documentary about the making of his 1978 album Darkness on the Edge of Town.

As he took the stage at the NFT many fans had their cameras out to capture the moment:

The Promise: The Making of ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’ is a 90-minute film directed by Thom Zimny, and features never before seen footage shot between 1976-1978, capturing rehearsals and recording sessions.

It premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September and is part of the upcoming box set, ‘The Promise: The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story’, which features 21 previously unreleased songs from the ‘Darkness’ recording sessions.
