Shelter<\/a><\/strong> (Icon): A\u00a0psychological thriller about a doctor\u00a0(Julianne Moore) specialising in multiple personality disorders who comes across a particularly troubling and potentially dangerous patient (Jonathan Rhys Meyers).<\/p>\n

Directed by\u00a0M\u00e5ns M\u00e5rlind<\/a> and\u00a0Bj\u00f6rn Stein<\/a>, this arrives in the UK with zero buzz and – despite the presence of a genuinely great actress in Moore – seems likely to die quietly at the cinema before an afterlife on DVD and TV. [Nationwide \/ 15]<\/p>\n

Whip It<\/a><\/strong> (Lionsgate UK): The directorial debut of\u00a0Drew Barrymore<\/a> stars stars Ellen Page as a teenager who throws in her small town beauty pageant crown for the world of roller derby.<\/p>\n

Marcia Gay Harden<\/a> plays Bliss\u2019 disapproving mother, while Barrymore, Kristen Wiig and Juliette Lewis play roller-derby stars. The main challenge for this film is the US-centric subject matter but it could appeal to a female-skewing audience looking for something different.\u00a0[Nationwide \/ 12A]<\/p>\n
