The Israeli war film Lebanon<\/a><\/strong> has won the Golden Lion<\/a> at the 66th Venice Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Directed by Samuel Maoz<\/a>, it was shot almost entirely inside an Israeli tank and is set against the backdrop of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon.<\/p>\n

In the other big awards Best Director went to Shirin Neshat<\/a><\/strong> for Women Without Men<\/a>, whilst Colin Firth<\/a><\/strong> won Best Actor for A Single Man<\/a>, the adaptation of Christopher Isherwood’s novel<\/a>.<\/p>\n
