Spanning the period since the seventh election of Andreotti (brilliantly played by\u00a0Toni Servillo<\/a>)\u00a0as\u00a0Prime Minister of Italy<\/a> in 1992, until the trial in which he was accused of collusion with the\u00a0Mafia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was a firm favourite on the festival circuit in the past year and was nominated for the\u00a0Palme D’Or<\/a> at the\u00a0Cannes Film Festival<\/a> in 2008, where it won the\u00a0Prix du Jury<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A worthy recipient of universal critical acclaim<\/a>, it is a riveting story also notable for some dazzling camerawork and editing which make it one of the best films to be released in the UK this year.<\/p>\n
