The Boat That Rocked<\/a><\/strong> (Universal): The new film from writer-director\u00a0Richard Curtis<\/a>\u00a0is set on board a\u00a0pirate radio<\/a>\u00a0ship broadcasting to the UK in the 1960s.<\/p>\n

It stars\u00a0Philip Seymour Hoffman<\/a>,\u00a0Bill Nighy<\/a>,\u00a0Rhys Ifans<\/a>,\u00a0Emma Thompson<\/a>,\u00a0Nick Frost<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Kenneth Branagh<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Gemma Arterton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although it is likely to attracted mixed reviews, the extensive marketing campaign and early opening on April 1st is likely to see it do well, even if probably won’t crack the top spot.\u00a0[Odeon Leicester Square & Nationwide]<\/p>\n

Monsters Vs. Aliens<\/a><\/strong> (Paramount): The latest animated film from DreamWorks is about a woman (Reese Witherspoon<\/a>) who, on her wedding day, is struck by a meteorite which causes her to grow into a giant.<\/p>\n

<\/object><\/p>\n

The US government takes her away to a top-secret facility where it has impounded all monsters since the war, who have to save the earth when aliens attack.\u00a0An impressive supporting cast includes\u00a0Seth Rogen<\/a>,\u00a0Hugh Laurie<\/a>,\u00a0Will Arnett<\/a>,\u00a0Rainn Wilson<\/a>,\u00a0Kiefer Sutherland<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Stephen Colbert<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A big budget effort, which will screen in 3-D on a lot of cinemas, this has already proved a hit in America and is likely to snag the top spot here too, especially given the family audiences around for the Easter holiday.\u00a0[Vue West End & Nationwide \/ Cert PG]<\/p>\n

Religulous<\/a><\/strong> (Momentum Pictures): A riotous\u00a0documentary directed by Larry Charles<\/a> in which US comedian\u00a0Bill Maher<\/a>\u00a0explores the subject of religion.<\/p>\n

Travelling\u00a0to numerous religious places, such as\u00a0Jerusalem<\/a>, the\u00a0Vatican<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Salt Lake City<\/a>, where they interview believers from a variety of backgrounds and groups including a former member of\u00a0Jews for Jesus<\/a>,\u00a0Christians<\/a>,\u00a0Muslims<\/a>, former\u00a0Mormons<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Hasidic Jews<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Waveriders<\/a><\/strong> (Element Pictures): A documentary about\u00a0the unlikely Irish roots of the worldwide surfing phenomenon and Irish\/Hawaiian waterman, George Freet<\/a>.\u00a0[London & Selected Key Cities \/ Cert PG]<\/span><\/p>\n

The World Unseen<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Enlightenment Films): Writte and directed by\u00a0Shamim Sarif<\/a>, this\u00a0stars\u00a0Lisa Ray<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Sheetal Sheth<\/a>\u00a0as two\u00a0Indian South African<\/a>\u00a0women who fall in love in a racist, sexist, and homophobic society.\u00a0[Apollo Piccadilly Circus \/ Cert 12A]<\/span><\/p>\n
