The Reader<\/a><\/strong> is the film adaptation of the\u00a01995\u00a0German\u00a0novel<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Bernhard Schlink<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0follows a complicated love affair in the 1950s between a German teenager named\u00a0Michael Berg\u00a0(David Kross<\/a>) and a woman twice his age called Hannah\u00a0Schmitz\u00a0(Kate Winslet<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Years later as a law student he discovers a terrible secret about his former lover and struggles to deal with the repercussions of her actions in World War II.<\/p>\n

The book became a bestseller\u00a0that was translated into 37 languages and the film is directed by Stephen Daldry<\/a><\/strong> with Ralph Fiennes<\/a><\/strong> playing Michael Berg as an older man.<\/p>\n
