The Day the Earth Stood Still<\/a><\/strong> is a remake of the 1951 sci-fi film<\/a> about an alien who comes to earth in order to assess the planet.<\/p>\n

This version stars\u00a0Keanu Reeves<\/a>\u00a0as the alien (named Klaatu), who is assessed by\u00a0team of scientists (played by Jennifer Connelly<\/a>, Jon Hamm<\/a> and John Cleese<\/a>) who must convince him that the human race is worth saving.<\/p>\n

I recently spoke to the director Scott Derrickson<\/a><\/strong> about updating a sci-fi classic for the present day.<\/p>\n
