<\/a><\/p>\n Matteo Garrone<\/a><\/strong> is the director of Gomorrah<\/a><\/strong>, a new film based on the best selling book by\u00a0Roberto Saviano<\/a>.<\/p>\n It explores the world of the Comorrah<\/a>, the\u00a0mafia<\/a>-like organisation based around the city\u00a0of\u00a0Naples<\/a> in\u00a0Southern\u00a0Italy<\/a>.<\/p>\n The film follows five stories that are based on real life accounts:<\/p>\n I recently spoke to Matteo in London where we discussed various aspects of the film, including: his initial reaction to the book; how he approached casting the various roles; the issues the film raises about contemporary Italy<\/a>; the reaction<\/a> at the Cannes film festival<\/a> back in May and the music in the film by Massive Attack<\/a>.<\/p>\n N.B.
