Jane Eyre<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(Universal Pictures):\u00a0An exquisitely realised adaptation of\u00a0Charlotte Bront\u00eb\u2019s novel<\/a>\u00a0injects new life into the much filmed text.\u00a0Opening with a key flash-forward sequence, the story depicts the struggles of a young woman (Mia Wasikowska<\/a>) in\u00a019th century<\/a>\u00a0England as she survives a tough childhood, before eventually working at a country house owned by the moody Mr. Rochester (Michael Fassbender). Along the way Jane encounters an uncaring aunt (Sally Hawkins), a cruel teacher (Simon McBurney), a sympathetic parson (Jamie Bell) and an amiable housekeeper (Judi Dench).\u00a0There is also the matter of her own emotions for her enigmatic new boss, who seems to be a personification the 20th century phrase \u201cit\u2019s complicated\u201d. This Is England ’88<\/a><\/strong> (4DVD): The acclaimed spin-off \u00a0from the Shane Meadows film\u00a0This Is England<\/a>\u00a0(2006), it is also a sequel to the 2010 series\u00a0This Is England ’86<\/a>.\u00a0Also\u00a0starring\u00a0Thomas Turgoose<\/a>\u00a0as Shaun,\u00a0Vicky McClure<\/a>\u00a0as Lol and\u00a0Joe Gilgun<\/a>\u00a0as Woody, it picks up picks up the action in the Christmas of 1988.
