Universal Restoring Classic Movies

As part of their centennial celebrations Universal are restoring some of their classic films on Blu-ray, including Dracula, The Birds and Jaws

As part of their centennial celebrations Universal are restoring some of their classic films on Blu-ray.

The titles include some of the crown jewels of the studio archive, including:

  • All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)
  • Dracula (1931)
  • Frankenstein (1931)
  • To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
  • The Birds (1963)
  • Jaws (1975)
  • E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial (1982)

It is a good demonstration of how digital tools can be used to preserve a studio’s celluloid heritage.
