Veteran editor Walter Murch<\/strong><\/a> (Apocalypse Now, The English Patient) recently gave this fascinating talk about ‘the three fathers of cinema’, with reference to Ludwig van Beethoven<\/a>, Gustave Flaubert<\/a> and\u00a0Thomas Edison<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Murch once had a shrewd observation<\/a> about the impact of film on audiences:<\/p>\n
