height: 391px;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" src=\"http:\/\/video.google.com\/googleplayer.swf?showShareButtons=true&amp;docId=-4837435862114260403%3A112000%3A3249000&amp;hl=en\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>This interview with Netscape founder and Silicon Valley investor <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marc_Andreessen\">Marc Andreessen<\/a><\/strong> from last year is fascinating.<\/p>\n<p>As the author of the first widely-used web browser (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mosaic_(web_browser)\">Mosaic<\/a>), a serial investor (in companies like <a href=\"http:\/\/digg.com\/\">Digg<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/\">Twitter<\/a>) and a board member in key web companies (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Facebook\">Facebook<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/EBay\">eBay<\/a>) he is in a good position to comment on how the web is changing the world in which we live.<\/p>\n<p>A few interesting snippets include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The stupidity of <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/6446193.stm\">Viacom suing Google<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The potential of Twitter<\/li>\n<li>How he is responsible for both <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/History_of_Mozilla_Firefox\">Firefox<\/a> (which came out of Netscape) and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Internet_Explorer\">Internet Explorer<\/a> (which came from Mosaic)<\/li>\n<li>Why <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/\">The New York Times<\/a> should cancel its print operations as soon as possible<\/li>\n<li>Why kids living on their laptops (figuratively speaking) is &#8216;fantastic&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>Why <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Andrew_Grove\">Andy Grove<\/a> of Intel is one of the most important figures in the history of modern tech<\/li>\n<li>Google was the first search engine that really worked and once they unlocked &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/AdSense\">the advertising problem<\/a>&#8216;
