The Damned United<\/a><\/strong> is the film adaptation of\u00a0David Peace<\/a>‘s\u00a0bestselling novel\u00a0about football manager Brian Clough<\/a> and his turbulent spell\u00a0in charge of\u00a0Leeds United<\/a> during the 1970s.<\/p>\n

It stars\u00a0Michael Sheen<\/a> as Clough, Timothy Spall<\/a> as Peter Taylor<\/a>,\u00a0Colm Meaney<\/a> as\u00a0Don Revie<\/a> and\u00a0Jim Broadbent<\/a> as Sam Longson.<\/p>\n

Adapted by\u00a0Peter Morgan<\/a> and directed\u00a0Tom Hooper<\/a> (best known for his TV miniseries work on\u00a0Longford<\/a> and\u00a0John Adams<\/a>) it is out this week on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK and gets its North American premiere at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.<\/p>\n
