NATIONAL RELEASES<\/strong><\/p>\n

Night At The Museum 2<\/a><\/strong> (20th Century Fox): The sequel to the 2006 hit comedy<\/a> sees the\u00a0museum pieces from the first film (which come to life) attacked by an evil Pharaoh.<\/p>\n

Security guard Larry (Ben Stiller<\/a>) then has to break into the\u00a0Smithsonian Institution<\/a>\u00a0to save the old exhibits from New York (like Theodore Roosevelt) from new exhibits (like General Custer, Napoleon Bonaparte, Al Capone and even Darth Vader).<\/p>\n

Fox are looking to capitalise on the runaway success of the first film (which dominated the 2006 Christmas box office) and turn this into a summer family tent pole movie. Although it has a lot of competition, expect this to get to the top spot.\u00a0[Nationwide \/ Cert\u00a0PG]\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tormented<\/a><\/strong> (Warner Bros\/Pathe): A British horror film about a bullied asthmatic who is driven to suicide and returns from the dead to get revenge on his teenage tormentors. Starring\u00a0Alex Pettyfer<\/a>,\u00a0April Pearson<\/a>\u00a0and directed by\u00a0Jon Wright<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Partly funded by\u00a0BBC Films<\/a>, this will be looking to lure gullible teens in but might struggle to get them in the current crowded marketplace. [Nationwide \/ Cert 15]<\/p>\n

Alice Neel<\/a><\/strong> (Revolver Entertainment):\u00a0A look at the life of portraitist Alice Neel, whose paintings were embraced in the 1970s, some 50 years after she began to work.\u00a0[ICA Cinema]<\/p>\n

Awaydays<\/a><\/strong> (Optimum Releasing):\u00a0Based on the book of the same name by\u00a0Kevin Sampson<\/a>, this explores a bunch of\u00a0thrill seeking young men looking to escape their 9 to 5 lives in the 1970s.<\/p>\n

Blind Loves<\/a><\/strong> (ICA Films): The film debut by\u00a0writer\/director\u00a0Juraj Lehotsky<\/a>\u00a0of Slovakia who cast\u00a0real blind people to play themselves in this blend between fiction and documentary\u00a0about the\u00a0everyday lives of four blind lovers.\u00a0[C’Worlds Fulham, Wandsworth & Nationwide \/ Cert\u00a018][ICA Cinema & Key Cities From June \/ Cert\u00a018]<\/p>\n

Everlasting Moments<\/a><\/strong> (Icon): A\u00a0Swedish<\/a>\u00a0drama<\/a>\u00a0starring\u00a0Maria Heiskanen<\/a>,\u00a0Mikael Persbrandt<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jesper Christensen<\/a>. Directed by\u00a0Jan Troell<\/a>\u00a0it is based on the true story of Maria Larsson, a Swedish working class woman in the early 1900s, who wins a camera in a lottery and goes on to become a\u00a0photographer<\/a>. The Girl Cut In Two<\/a><\/strong> (Artificial Eye): \u00a0Veteran French director Claude Chabrol<\/a> returns with this tale about\u00a0two men (Beno\u00eet Magimel<\/a>\u00a0&\u00a0Fran\u00e7ois Berl\u00e9and<\/a>) who vie for a single young woman (Ludivine Sagnier<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Louise Bourgeois<\/a><\/strong> (Revolver Entertainment): A\u00a0documentary about\u00a0artist\u00a0and\u00a0sculptor\u00a0Louise Bourgeois<\/a>, directed by Marion Cajori and Amei Wallach.\u00a0[ICA Cinema]<\/p>\n

Objectified<\/a><\/strong> (Plexifilm): <\/span>A documentary by director\u00a0Gary Hustwit<\/a> which explores the elusive world of industrial design and the interaction of people with the objects they’ve brought into their lives.\u00a0[Barbican]<\/p>\n

Painters Painting<\/a><\/strong> (Revolver Entertainment): A\u00a01972 documentary directed by\u00a0Emile de Antonio<\/a>\u00a0which\u00a0covers American art movements from\u00a0abstract expressionism<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0pop art<\/a>\u00a0through conversations with artists in their studios.
