The Up Series<\/a><\/strong> (Network): \u00a0<\/strong>A re-issue for the 2005 edition of this remarkable documentary series which has\u00a0followed the lives of fourteen\u00a0British<\/a>\u00a0children since 1964.<\/p>\n

In the original\u00a0Seven Up<\/a>\u00a0(1963) 14 seven-year-old children from vastly different backgrounds were interviewed and every seven years, the director\u00a0Michael Apted<\/a>\u00a0films new material from the original subjects in order to track the changes in their lives.<\/p>\n

An evolving project, it is the longest-running documentary project in history and began as a study of the influence of class on schoolchildren in England.This instalment, the seventh, features returnees Tony, Bruce, Sue, Jackie, Suzy, Paul, Simon, Nick, Andrew, John, Lynn, and Neil.<\/p>\n

It also incorporates footage from the previous films in order to provide background and ensure that the film stands on its own.\u00a0A moving and fascinating project, it highlights how interesting ‘normal’ life can be when looked at in a certain way.<\/p>\n
