Bernd Eichinger<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is a writer and producer who came to prominence in the 1980s by helping\u00a0Constantin Film<\/a>\u00a0to become one of the most successful production companies in Germany with films like\u00a0Christiane F.<\/a>,\u00a0The Neverending Story<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0The Name of the Rose<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More recently he wrote\u00a0Downfall<\/a>, a stark examination of the final days of Hitler<\/a> and The Third Reich<\/a>\u00a0and his latest film deals with another dark chapter of German history.<\/p>\n

The Baader Meinhof Complex<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0explores the creation and actions of\u00a0the\u00a0West German<\/a>\u00a0terrorist group the\u00a0Red Army Faction<\/a>\u00a0(RAF), which was the most active and prominent terrorist group in post-war West Germany.<\/p>\n

Directed by\u00a0Uli Edel<\/a>, it stars\u00a0Moritz Bleibtreu<\/a>,\u00a0Martina Gedeck<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Johanna Wokalek<\/a>\u00a0and is based\u00a0on the best selling non-fiction book of the same name by\u00a0Stefan Aust<\/a>.<\/p>\n
