<\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a>\"Oscar<\/a>Not long to go now before the Oscars and as you may have noticed I’ve already put up my predictions in full<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, I thought I’d also post some thoughts about who the dark horses<\/a> are in the major categeories.<\/p>\n

Some categories are slam dunks but others much harder and at this stage last minute doubts always creep in.<\/p>\n

So here are my predictions set alongside the dark horses who could cause a surprise<\/p>\n

BEST PICTURE
\n<\/strong>My prediction: No Country for Old Men
\nDark Horse: Michael Clayton<\/p>\n

BEST DIRECTOR<\/strong>
\nMy Prediction: Ethan Coen, Joel Coen, No Country for Old Men
\nDark Horse: Paul Thomas Anderson, There Will Be Blood<\/p>\n

BEST ACTOR
\n<\/strong>My Prediction: Daniel Day-Lewis, There Will Be Blood
\nDark Horse: George Clooney, Michael Clayton<\/p>\n

BEST ACTRESS<\/strong>
\nMy Prediction: Julie Christie, Away from Her
\nDark Horse: Marion Cotillard, La Vie en Rose or Ellen Page, Juno<\/p>\n

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
\n<\/strong>My Prediction: Javier Bardem, No Country for Old Men
\nDark Horse: Hal Holbrook, Into the Wild<\/p>\n

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS<\/strong>
\nMy Prediction: Cate Blanchett, I’m Not There
\nDark Horses: Tilda Swinton, Michael Clayton or Amy Ryan, Gone Baby Gone<\/p>\n

BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY<\/strong>
\nMy Prediction: Ronald Harwood, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
\nDark Horse: The Coen Brothers, No Country for Old Men\u00a0<\/p>\n

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY<\/strong>
\nMy Prediction\/Dark Horse: Tony Gilroy, Michael Clayton (it should be noted that Diablo Cody’s script for Juno is the hot favourite in this category but I fancy an upset, so my predicton is for the dark horse)<\/p>\n
