{"id":13085,"date":"2011-10-02T21:24:43","date_gmt":"2011-10-02T20:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/?p=13085"},"modified":"2011-11-01T15:20:47","modified_gmt":"2011-11-01T15:20:47","slug":"the-voice-cameos-of-james-cameron","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/2011\/10\/02\/the-voice-cameos-of-james-cameron\/","title":{"rendered":"Voice Cameos of James Cameron"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/The-Voice-Cameos-of-James-Cameron.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13086\" title=\"The Voice Cameos of James Cameron\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/The-Voice-Cameos-of-James-Cameron.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Director <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_Cameron\">James Cameron<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0can often be heard making off-screen voice\u00a0cameos in his movies.<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Terminator\">The Terminator<\/a> (1984), some have speculated that he voices the guy who leaves an answerphone message for Sarah Connor, cancelling their date for the evening.<\/p>\n<p>But although it could be him putting on an accent, it seems more likely he is the motel receptionist later in the film who checks Sarah and Kyle Reese in as they flee the killer cyborg.<\/p>\n<p>At a <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/qDvxJJ\">Terminator promotional event in 1991<\/a>, Cameron admitted that he provided some of the sounds for the Alien Queen in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aliens_(film)\">Aliens<\/a> (1986), dubbing them at his house near Pinewood Studios.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZbfHccPdYcE\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Near the beginning of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Abyss\">The Abyss<\/a> (1989), he began a tradition of voicing a pilot, as we can hear him ask for clearence to land a helicopter on the Benthic Explorer ship as he drops off the Navy SEAL team.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Terminator_2:_Judgment_Day\">Terminator 2<\/a> (1991) he went back to voicing villains, providing the screams of the T-1000 as it interacted with molten steel towards the end of the film.<\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/True_Lies\">True Lies<\/a> (1994), he was back to voicing pilots, as one of the Marine Harrier pilots who fires upon the terrorist convoy on the Overseas Highway bridge.<\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Titanic_(1997_film)\">Titanic<\/a> (1997), his voice cameo is easily missed as a faint voice on deck asking a fellow passenger about &#8216;talk of an iceberg&#8217;.
