{"id":11833,"date":"2011-05-08T04:36:51","date_gmt":"2011-05-08T03:36:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/?p=11833"},"modified":"2011-05-09T16:10:34","modified_gmt":"2011-05-09T15:10:34","slug":"bin-laden-home-videos-the-it-crowd-linehan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/2011\/05\/08\/bin-laden-home-videos-the-it-crowd-linehan\/","title":{"rendered":"Bin Laden Home Videos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Bin-Laden-Home-Videos.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Bin-Laden-Home-Videos.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Bin Laden Home Videos\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11834\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The US government has released previously unseen videos of Osama bin Laden, which include footage of him channel surfing satellite TV and out-takes from a propaganda video. <\/p>\n<p>Last week a <a href=\"http:\/\/\">Navy SEAL team raided his compound in Pakistan<\/a>, shot him in the head and dumped his body into the sea. <\/p>\n<p>But whilst they were there, they also took <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-us-canada-13323060\">a &#8216;treasure trove&#8217; of information<\/a> on the world&#8217;s most wanted terrorist including computers and thumb drives.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday they released the first of the videos from the compound, with the sound turned off.<\/p>\n<p>First, there is this four minute video of bin Laden flipping channels to watch images of himself on various news outlets:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pLCDhlJd4tA\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Then there is this other video of him giving some kind of speech:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Aiy1iSp0BCA\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Plus, we get an outtake of a speech, which appears to have lighting problems:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g6hdRhf4fT0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It reminds me of this scene from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/True_Lies\">True Lies<\/a> (1994):<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Lw1vScK-o7U\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And also this unused scene from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Four_Lions\">Four Lions<\/a> (2010):<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tH9y9HU-gQg\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But the weirdest story to come out of these latest revelations is the news that Osama apparently watched the UK comedy series The IT Crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Although I haven&#8217;t seen any video evidence yet, creator <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Graham_Linehan\">Graham Linehan<\/a> has <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/Glinner\/status\/66920320111620096\">tweeted<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Does anyone have confirmation that Osama was watching &#8216;The IT Crowd&#8217; in these home movies? Amazing if true. Don&#8217;t know how to feel.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/Glinner\/status\/66941246622535680\">then<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Still totally shocked\/confused about #OBL #itcrowd news. Phone ringing every 5 mins w another journo asking for quote. Signing off for now <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/Mike_FTW\">Mike Monteiro<\/a> tweeted the following: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Yep, CNN is now reporting on the IT Crowd \/ Osama thing. You seeing this @Glinner?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then Linehan <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/Glinner\/status\/67035993101967360\">replied back<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Yes, been advised not to comment ATM RT @Mike_FTW: yep, CNN is now reporting on the IT Crowd \/ Osama thing.
