{"id":11794,"date":"2011-05-01T19:58:51","date_gmt":"2011-05-01T18:58:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/?p=11794"},"modified":"2011-05-01T19:58:51","modified_gmt":"2011-05-01T18:58:51","slug":"obama-roasts-trump-white-house-seth-meyers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/2011\/05\/01\/obama-roasts-trump-white-house-seth-meyers\/","title":{"rendered":"Obama Roasts Trump"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11795\" title=\"Obama at the White House Correspondent's Dinner 2011\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmdetail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Obama-at-the-White-House-Correspondents-Dinner-2011.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>President Obama <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20110501\/ap_on_en_ot\/us_obama_correspondents\">gave a speech last night<\/a> at the White House Correspondent&#8217;s Dinner and preceded to roast <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Donald_Trump#Statements_regarding_Barack_Obama\">birther-in-chief<\/a> Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The annual dinner has been a Washington tradition since 1920 and usually sees the President get spoofed by a comedian.<\/p>\n<p>What added a little spice this year was that reality TV star Donald Trump was in the audience and Obama decided to have a little fun with the current outbreak of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barack_Obama_citizenship_conspiracy_theories\">birther nonsense<\/a> that has gripped parts of the US.<\/p>\n<p>The White House even prepared a self-deprecating trailer for the event, using outtakes from Obama&#8217;s video addresses and Joe Biden&#8217;s gaffes:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/508aCh2eVOI\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Full video of the dinner can be seen here:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/n9mzJhvC-8E\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Some highlights included Obama doing the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Showing footage from The Lion King (1994) as his &#8216;birth video&#8217; and explaining to the Fox News table that this was a joke.<\/li>\n<li>Replying to Matt Damon&#8217;s disappointment in his presidency (&#8220;Well, Matt, I just saw The Adjustment Bureau, so&#8230;right back atcha, buddy.&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li>On Michelle Bachman&#8217;s possible run for president in 2012 (&#8220;I hear she was born in Canada.
