Tom Hooper on the set of The Damned United

The Damned United is the film adaptation of David Peace‘s bestselling novel about football manager Brian Clough and his turbulent spell in charge of Leeds United during the 1970s.

It stars Michael Sheen as Clough, Timothy Spall as Peter TaylorColm Meaney as Don Revie and Jim Broadbent as Sam Longson.

Adapted by Peter Morgan and directed Tom Hooper (best known for his TV miniseries work on Longford and John Adams) it is out this week on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK and gets its North American premiere at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
